It is with great sadness that we mark the passing of Phil. He was an extraordinary contributor of information to New Zealand's natural history records.

Phil was an excellent photographer, meticulous in his records, and shared his enthusiasm and knowledge with many people around the world. He contributed 4,481 records to iNaturalist, contributed to Facebook pages on fungi and insects, and provided excellent images for books and educational resources of all kinds. Phil loaded 16,000 images to the National Library Kete.
